Terms of use
Last updated October 31, 2026
These terms are an agreement between Kinmoor Studios LLC ("Kinmoor", "we") and the business that uses Truepenny ("you"), including everyone you invite. By using Truepenny you accept them. If you have a separate signed agreement with us, that agreement wins where the two differ.
What Truepenny does
Truepenny reads Shopify payouts and your QuickBooks Online books, prepares the payments and journal entries those payouts call for, and posts them only when a person you've given the approver, admin or owner role approves them. It is a bookkeeping tool, not accounting, tax or legal advice. You remain responsible for your books and for what you approve.
Your account
- Keep sign-in details and authenticator apps private, and give each person their own account.
- You decide who has access and what role they have, and you're responsible for what they do in Truepenny.
- Tell us straight away at josh@kinmoorstudios.com if you think someone else has access.
Your data
Your data stays yours. You allow us to store and process it only to provide Truepenny, as the privacy policy describes. You can export it or ask us to delete it at any time.
Use it fairly
Don't use Truepenny for anything unlawful, don't try to reach another company's data, don't probe or overload the service, and don't resell it without our agreement.
Other services
Truepenny works with QuickBooks Online and Shopify. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, and we aren't responsible for their availability or for changes they make.
Our software
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Truepenny while you're a customer. Kinmoor keeps all rights in the software itself.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Truepenny available and correct, and we'll tell you about changes that affect how you use it. During a pilot or trial, the service is provided as it is, without promises of fitness for a particular purpose.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Kinmoor isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Ending
You can stop using Truepenny at any time. We may suspend access that breaks these terms. When an account closes, data is handled as the privacy policy says.
Changes to these terms
We'll post changes here with a new date and email account owners about any change that matters. Continuing to use Truepenny afterwards means you accept them.
